I appealed to geocaching hq to reconsider their action on my cache. I can understand why they needed to archive caches on state trust land but I think they were a bit overzealous. I guess they felt it was better to do it quickly and sort out the mistakes later. I have alternatives planned to get my cache back in kind of the same area if need be. Legally do so. Not sneakily. I posted that cache where it was because it is a good place to watch bald eagles and ospreys. Mike and I saw 2 bald eagles just a few hundred feet away from the cache resting on a perch. That was just a couple of weeks ago. I could turn it into an lpc in the parking lot, 10 feet or so from the original cache, but I would hate to do that.

We certainly understand what is going
on and also had several of ours on public roadways ( that
pass through State Trust Land) archived. We will be
dutifully retrieving containers shortly.
Has anybody appealed the roadway ones? I do understand
that there was a request for fast action so a map checking
algorithm was used to find anything that appears to be on
State Trust Land.
I do plan to post notes when the containers are retrieved
and encourage others to do the same to show our community is
responsive and responsible.
