One cache that the Strike Force passed on was the recently posted "Cabeza Cache"  (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=50206). We decided against trying it because Rob of Team C.H.U.M.P., Strike Force Navigator, was unable to locate any access roads to the cache from the vicinity of the road we were on. I sent the message below to the cache owners, and just received the reply shown below that.
 
I'm not sure I accept his statement that "...the road from Tule Well to Christmas Pass is open". It's certainly not open all the way to the northern entrance at Tacna (this per the BLM person I spoke to), and even if it is open part way, I don't think there is any point on that road that gets you within five miles of the cache coordinates.
 
Those of you with topo maps of the area may be able to find a road in for a shorter hike to this cache, but from what I saw, even if we had found such a road we never would have been able to hit it in the time we had. I'll be interested to see what they add to the cache page.

Good questions, I will try to update the cache page. The roads are posted "closed" off the El Camino Del Diablo Road only. And not only roads, anything looking like a faint trail is posted closed as well. However there is NO closed signs posting the Cabiza Prieta when approaching from the West, east or the North. Also the road leading northeast from Tule well to Christmas Pass is open. It looks like there is a closed sign on it but if you read the sign, It posts it closed later in the year. I am sure they are just trying to lessen off road damage to the preserve off the El Camino Del Diablo. Later b
