Other than having read Dee Brown's "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee" many years ago (great book, BTW), I don't know anything about Native American history, shame on me. But when we were down in Yuma for the Strike Force, there were several geographic entities in the area that contained the name "Mohawk". There was Mohawk Valley, the Mohawk Canal, and others. I've always associated the Mohawks with upstate New York, James Fenimore Cooper and all that. Does anyone here know how the "Mohawk influence" came to Yuma County, Arizona? Barring that, anyone have any suggestions as to how I might find out? Googling "Mohawk" and "Arizona" wasn't much help. Steve Team Tierra Buena
