Howdy,

I am using a Palm M130 PDA and I have a data cable connecting it to my cell 
phone. With this, I can access internet almost anywhere I have a cell phone 
signal (I pay nothing for this service as it is provided with my Verizon 
Wireless service).

I am fairly limited to what browsers/programs I can use on my M130 as it is 
a slightly older PDA. However, so far I havent come across any browsers I 
havent been able to use on this particular PDA. There seems to be 4 or 5 
players in the PDA browser market.... Xiino and Pocketlink are two  that I 
have tried. These both allow you to view internet as you would see it on 
your home desktop (sort of... it wraps text to fit your PDA screen). These 
both show images (GIF and JPEG) and normal HTML. But, dont support 
javascript or offer limited support for javascript. I currently have Xiino 
installed. Pocketlink kept freezing up my PDA. I finally gave up on it. I 
have been using Xiino for quite a while and havent had any serious issues 
with it. It does support some javascript. The other browser that I use is 
Eudora internet suite. This browser does not show images and takes text only 
from web sites. I like this browser best as it loads pages very quickly 
(since it only loads text) and most of what I look for on internet sites on 
my PDA is for text only anyways... like checking emails on the road or 
searching for information about caches while out caching. For these 
instances... I dont really need to see any images (the screen is too small 
to make viewing images useless anyways; I do have a color screen though). I 
also use it to check weather when I am out ballooning. I can look at the 
latest terminal forecasts (aviation wx) and such.

Lately I have had an issue though: Geocaching.com displays rather nicely on 
each of these browsers. I can click on anything and go anywhere on the site 
with either browser. However, I cannot log my finds. I click on the cache 
page and then click on 'log a find'. So far so good. I then type my log in 
the available text space. But, when I go to send it... the button that you 
click on to send the log apparantly is not supported by my browsers. Either 
one of them. I used to be able to do this on the Eudora browser, but cannot 
anymore. Seems when the gc.com site underwent some changes, it no longer 
worked.

I use Hotmail for my email and can view, type and send emails on both of 
these browsers as well. Lately, when Hotmail underwent a changeover... I 
cannot click on the 'send' button anymore either. Basically, it is not 
clickable as this script is apparently not supported by the browser (?).

I am wondering if anyone else uses their PDA to access internet... and the 
geocaching.com site specifically. Does anyone else log their finds on a PDA 
or perhaps in the field? If so, does anyone have any problems logging the 
find? Having the same problem I am having?

Are there any recommendations for newer Browsers that I might try? I have 
tried the few out there that I know of. There are a couple others, but they 
are compatible with Palm's latest OS only (5). So, I am a bit limited in 
that respect as I have Palm 0S4.  I know Palm offers it's own Browser, which 
comes standard on all the newer Palm Tungstens (that can support this). But, 
again.. only usable with OS 5 and not any of the older OS versions. 
Unfortunately, unlike Desktop computers.. I am not aware of a way to upgrade 
my OS within my Palm unit.

Basically, I am wondering if this is something to do with the browser itself 
not supporting the script some buttons use on gc.com (or hotmail too) or if 
it is outside the limitations of my Palm OS?

This question pertains only to people that use Palm OS in their PDA's, As 
PocketPC (windows) is a whole different thing really. However, I would like 
to hear from anyone using PocketPC browsers to learn more about their 
experiences as well. Although, I think I am pretty much a Palm OS fan. I try 
and stay away from anything Microsoft! :)
