That's what I came up with last night.  I used 1 1/2 inch PVC and glued an 
end cap on one side and a screw on cap on the other.  I made it just long 
enough for a ball point pen.  I like it because it is pretty much water 
proof, but have some  concerns about the "bomb" look of it.  I am going to 
decorate it some and see how it looks.
